The Festival gives them a sense of the range, diversity and the pleasure cinema has to offer. There is a danger that youngsters are exposed to a limited film culture and these events broaden their horizons.

The main benefit to the students is that they see a film for free, which is fantastic. Also, it offers a change of scenery for students, as the programme offers films outside of what they would usually choose to see, so they get to discover about films they didn’t know.

Film Week is very important as it encourages cultural literacy. Going to the cinema also allows you to share the experience and encourages you to be considerate and accept other people.
